Kunming International Flora Auction Trading Center(KIFA) and Dounan Flora Electronic Trading Center(DFETC) resumed their business on February 10th. It was expected that the first day of flower supply would reach 4 million pieces.

The two auction centers had stopped their trade since February 6th in order to impede the cross infection and spreading. However, People’s Government of Yunnan Province noted that economic development was of the same importance as epidemic prevention. Therefore, the government tried their best to spare the economy from downturn brought by the virus, saying enterprises that had made full preparation for the control of the epidemic can resume work on Feb. 10th.

Currently, both KIFA and DFETC were ready to resume their work, formulating concrete measures to impede the disease. Epidemic Control Office of Kunming said on Feb. 8th that KIFA and DFETC can continue their trade for the reasons that they had fully prepared for the epidemic.

With the help of local governments and apartments, the normal operation of the two auctions ensured the safe and orderly transaction of flowers and reduced the florists’ loss, which greatly boosted florists’ confidence and gave a strong impetus to the flower industry.

It’s reported that the transaction market, the trading hall and keyboards were subjected to complete disinfection at least twice a day. All people who entered the exchange were required to wear masks, present ID card and transaction card, and receive temperature measurement. People whose temperatures were abnormal were not allowed to enter the exchange.

So far, all flower companies with large shipments in Dounan, such as Huaeb Technology, Hengfeng Flower company, and Meiqi Flower company, had returned to work. KIFA also had built a temporary delivery place nearby the flower markets for shippers, so as to maintain the normal transaction. It has been reported that Hangzhou flower market will be open on Feb 14th. Delivery to Thailand and Vietnam will soon resume normality!
