At the same time, China is the most important artificial turf exporter too, with 5 Chinese companies in the world’s top 10 artificial turf makers list. In 2019, China produced 123.5 million sq.m of synthetic grasses, making up 53.7% of global output, and exported 64.8 sq.m, accounting for 87% of global export volume.

Impacted by COVID-19, many projects has been put off to the second half of 2020 or even 2021, but China will carry on with its plan released in late 2019 to build another 192 million sq.m of football fields, which is going to generate a 15 billion yuan artificial turf market. Askci Corporation also predicts that by 2022 the global market will reach USD 4.45 billion.
