Rapid Development Of China's Flower Industry
In 2010, China's flower production area reached to 918,0,000,000㎡, and the total sales revenue was 86.2 billion Yuan, which showed a benign growth. At the aspect of regional market, China has formed three big distinctive flower industry centers, including a Yunnan and Guangdongbased cut flower production center, whose supply of cut flowers in these two provinces accounts for over half percentages of the total amount of cut flowers in nationwide; a Guangdong, Jiangsu, Sichuan and Shanghai-based potted flower production center; and a Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Sichuan and Yunnan based flower germchit production center.
With the development of Chinese national economy and the improvement of people's living standard, residents' demand for flowers and nursery stock have penetrated into every corner of people's lives, from parks to roads, or from residential subdistricts to shopping malls. The pursuit of green and beauty brings new opportunities to flower industry.
Guangzhou, the largest flower consuming base in China, takes up 40 percent of China flower industry. Broadleaf plants of Guangdong and Fujian provinces, potted landscape of Zhejiang, saplings from Shanghai, prickly ball plants of Liaoning have realized scaled mass production and been exported to other countries.
China's flower industry is experiencing a rapid development. With a fast growth of national economy flower industry to expand its domestic needs for flowers, and along with the readjustment in agricultural structure flower industry will get a great support.
